My clay arrived today. I hope to make lots of pots tomorrow. Hope I feel better tomorrow. My kids were sick with a cold–they kicked it pretty quick–Me –that’s a different story–I’m on day 4 and feel like I swallowed a razor blade–I don’t care for coffee but it is fast becoming my friend-Made me a sign today on my dry erase board at the shop–saw it on another potter’s blog—It reads-WHY AREN’T YOU MAKING POTS?
It”s Thursday-I have 1 box of clay left that I will use today, Can’t stretch it any more. I guess I will start glazing this afternoon or tomorrow. We have alot of wholesale orders to fill right off the bat. So I will have to kick it into high gear once I get my clay in. I have been sketching out new ideas and I will be testing some new glazes tomorrow. that always excites me. Opening the kiln is like Christmas morning for me! Yes, I will make it! After all Tomorrow is another Day!
So we ordered clay on Monday(1st day back at work) only to find out we wouldn’t get it till next week about Wednesday. I looked at my husband-looked at my 3 boxes of clay that I had left from last year-looked back at my husband-looked at my 1 bag of recycle. Thinking I can go through 3 boxes in 1 day. Thinking what else can I do after I use all the clay. Clean studio—uuuhhhh not really my thing, my husband-Bless him-does that for me most of the time- I hate a dirty studio- makes me feel like I can not produce decent pots. I do have some bisque left from last year. Could fire that after I use all the clay. Sounds like a plan to me!
Monday I am back at it. Can’t wait! I have been off work for a month. Enjoying the holidays and some family time. I am brimming with new ideas and can’t wait to get some clay in my hands. Everytime I open a bag of clay I have to smell it. That musty smell. JUST LOVE IT! I have some new glazes in mind. We will also be going to market in June. My husband is working on a ETSY page. Hope to get that up and running soon as a new venue to sell some pottery.
