Tab would like to make a very special announcement. Every year Tab makes
a special piece of pottery for Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center that is to
be sold by the T.W.I.G.S. of Le Bonheur to raise money for the Medical Center.
This year the piece will be a singed and numbered serving dish in Tab’s Bamboo
Green glaze finish with a cross impression on the lip. This is a versatile
serving piece that can be used to serve food as well as being a casserole dish
that can be placed in any oven. There will be 800 pieces in this limited run
know as COOPER’S GIFT , so named for Cooper Hughes ( a patient of Le Bonheur ).
Cooper Thomas Hughes was born premature at 31 weeks to his proud parents
Russell and Terri Hughes in Tupelo, MS. He was diagnosed with major intestinal
problems, including short bowel syndrome. Cooper was airlifted by Pedi-Flite to
Le Bonheur Children’s Medical center in Memphis, TN where his long road to
recovery began. This little angel faced his first of many surgeries when he was
only 3 days old, but he came through each obstacle as a fighter and with a sweet
smile on his face. Le Bonheur’s Special Care Unit was Cooper’s home away from
home as he remained in their care for the first 9 ½ months of his life. With
God’s guidance, Dr. Gene Whitington and Dr. Trey Eubanks were two of many
doctors that provided that extra special touch that Cooper needed, and the
Special Care Unit nurses interacted with him in such a loving way that it is
still reflected in his personality today. Cooper is presently receiving
various treatments at Le Bonheur, and continues to be an inspiration to all he
encounters. God has a special plan for Cooper, and many people have been
privileged to be a part of it. For his parents, being chosen to receive this
blessing named Cooper has always been viewed by them as “God’s Gift”. “Every
good and perfect gift comes from above…..”James 1:17 If you are interested
